Bawtry
The John Bird Studio is situated in the historic and
picturesque town of Bawtry. Bawtrys location has always been the key to the
towns success; when it was granted its charter in 1213,it was considered the Gateway
to the North lying directly on the route from Lincoln to York.The town makes up
part of Pilgrim Country,which nestles in the crossroads of four
counties,Nottinghamshire,Yorkshire,Lincolnshire and Derbyshire and comprises of
quaint villages and market towns where the Pilgrim Fathers came from.Around
every corner and through every alleyway is a haven for the discerning shopper
with stylish shops, bistros,tea rooms and wine bars.
Gallery
Situated in Dower House Square just off the main square in
the centre of Bawtry you ll find Johns gallery.Although he is painting most of
the time in the gallery he is only too willing to give assistance and any
information regarding the originals and limited editions on show.He works
directly with many of the artists and with independent publishers in order to
give a wide choice of contemporary,traditional and affordable art.Recently
accepted by Arts Council, England as one of the participating galleries in the Own
Art scheme.
Artwork & Framing Services
We
offer a full framing service with a comprehensive range of traditional
and contemporary mouldings. Expert advice is given in the choice of
frames and mounts to compliment the picture. We also stretch
tapestries, cross stitch, embroidery, silks and canvases and specialise
in all types of framing, including papirus, football shirts, medals etc.
Although
we keep an attentive eye to the ever changing style of the presentation
of artwork we also adhere to certain traditional formats where
appropriate.
Own Art
Own Art is an Arts Council, England initiative designed
to make it easy and affordable for everyone to own high quality works of art.
Loans are interest free and available from as little as £100 up to £2000.There is no deposit and payment
is over 10 months.Youll need to visit the gallery to apply for an Own Art
